Communicating with disabled children - 4 top tips

As part of our project to Involve Children and Young People in Research, we collaborated with Exeter College to carry out an activity with young people with a disability or special educational need. The activity centred on creating a resource for the Hospital Communications Project. Together we created a poster which provides 4 key tips for hospital staff working on children’s hospital wards to improve communication with disabled children when inpatients.

We really enjoyed working with the students from Exeter College and we are delighted that the poster has been put up in the children’s ward at the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital for staff and patients to see.
