Award winning staff

Public engagement is at the heart of PenCRU, with families of disabled children advising us on all aspects of the research we do. We are delighted to announce that Sharon Blake has been awarded a University of Exeter Postgraduate and Early Career Engagement Award. These awards recognise and celebrate high quality public engagement undertaken by Postgraduate and Early Career Researchers.

The award is in recognition of the work that Sharon has being carrying out to plan, deliver and evaluate public engagement in our Autism and Dentistry and Cerebral Visual Impairment studies. The positive feedback from researchers and parents who have participated in project meetings is also testament to Sharon’s commitment, caring approach and meticulous attention to details.

In more sombre news, Sharon will be leaving PenCRU towards the end of September 2016 to further her studies at the University of Exeter. All at PenCRU are extremely grateful to Sharon for all her valuable contributions to the work of the unit and wish her the best for the future.
