New publication

We are pleased to announce a new publication from Megan’s PhD research: Interventions utilising contact to improve children's attitudes towards disability.

This paper describes a systematic review of the effectiveness of school-based interventions for improving children's attitudes towards disability through contact with people with disabilities. The work examined 12 published evaluations. The conclusions were that direct, extended, and guided imagined contact interventions are effective in improving children's attitudes towards disability; there was no evidence for parasocial (media-based) contact.

The review is published in Disability and Health Journal. The journal requires a subscription to access but you are welcome to contact us for a copy.
