PenCRU team in Slovenia

Last week the PenCRU team headed off to the European Academy of Childhood Disability Annual Conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

We were delighted to meet other colleagues from across the globe as well as to chair and present at a symposium: Promoting health, empowerment, and resilience in parents of disabled children: an exploration of novel parent carer-focused interventions. We were joined by Peter Rosenbaum from Canada presenting the Envisage Programme, and Helen Bourke-Taylor from Australia presenting the Healthy Mothers, Healthy Families Programme.

We also presented 3 posters: 2 relating to Healthy Parent Carers and one for the ICON project.

Jane Ring, a long-standing member of the PenCRU Family Faculty came to promote the role of parent carers in research and to connect with researchers working on Cerebral Visual Impairment.
